Production Manager - Pharmaceuticals

Location: Sunshine Coast, Queensland

Our client specialises in manufacturing medical pharmaceutical products, committed to delivering safe, high quality and effective medicines to Physicians and their patients. Their cutting-edge facility operates under rigorous Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) protocols to guarantee the safety, purity, and uniformity of medicines.

The Role:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Overseeing all aspects of production within the GMP-certified facility, including drying, processing, and packaging.

• Lead and managing a team of production staff to ensure efficient and compliant manufacturing operations.

• Developing and implementing production schedules to meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate and assist with other departments, including Quality Assurance, Research & Development, and Compliance, to optimize production processes and ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline operations.

• Monitor and maintain cultivation and processing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

• Develop and implement training programs for production staff to ensure competency and adherence to GMP guidelines and other regulatory requirements.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and standards, including GMP, TGA, ODC and other applicable regulations governing the production of the products.

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving production-related issues and implementing corrective actions as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

• Ideally, 5 years of experience in a production management role within a GMP regulated environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical, cannabis, or related industry.

• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and requirements, with experience in implementing and maintaining GMP-compliant manufacturing processes.
