Role Purpose
- To own, manage and maintain all operational tasks and processes within LUCENT
- To create new systems and processes within LUCENT to support its growth and maturation
- To support the CEO in all other aspects of the smooth running of the business and it’s growth, including business development, and personal support
Requirement
Part time - 30 hours per week over 4 days to be pre-determined in accordance with business needs

Responsibilities
Our Business Operations Lead is a talented leader who supports operational leadership in a variety of departments - including general administration, finance, human resources and IT.
This role has a variety of day-to-day responsibilities that contribute to the smooth running of the business but also allows the individual to be a part of the overall growth and development of the business.
This person will be responsible for:
- Staff and subcontractor monthly hours collection, reconciliation and invoicing of clients
- Subcontractor management including payment of subcontractor monthly invoices and and expenses
- Regular communication with staff, subcontractors, management, clients and suppliers to ensure a high level of delivery from all areas of the business
- Project tracking and management: ensuring that activities remain on time and on budget
- Oversee the accounting processes, financial administration and liaison with the finance team to ensure all data is up to date and correct
- Maintenance and further development of organisational level policies and processes to enhance continued successful business growth
- Data collection and reporting of metrics to achieve targets set by the senior leadership team
- Management and maintenance of business systems to efficiently support the business and its growth plan
- Close liaison with CEO including diary and inbox support, travel and accommodation booking, reporting and other additional duties that will be required to grow the business
- Occasional personal support to the CEO to maximise his time on the business
Person Specification
This role is highly varied and requires an individual who is happy to get their hands dirty as well as working at a strategic level.
Required skills and qualifications
- Five or more years of proven success in a business operations role
- Excellent administrative and customer service skills
- Experience working within professional services (agency side)
- Expertise of business productivity software
- An aptitude for learning new business software applications

Please note that a background in Science/Biotech is not essential for this role.
