Acuren is currently seeking an eager Surveying Crew Lead to join and contribute to our Cathodic Protection divsion in Calgary. Reporting to the project manager and operations manager, this position will be responsible to manage all field level aspects of pipeline surveys for the assigned project/area while following all internal and client expectations.

Responsibilities
- Responsible to prep pipeline(s) for the required survey while ensure minimal downtime for survey crews. This may include interruption, interference testing, understanding CP potentials, land approvals, client notifications etc.
- Managing change and impacts from both inside and outside the project. A crew lead must know the scope of work and be able to immediately report when conditions do not meet the client/survey spec.
- Responsible for ensuring all CIS wire is removed following the survey.
- Monitoring the progress of Project components to ensure that the overall goals, schedules, budgets and benefits of the project will meet client/PM expectations.
- Responsible as the direct onsite supervisor for all crew members. This requires an understanding of all Acuren and OH&S safety processes and procedures. The crew lead is responsible to ensure all crew members are working safely.
- Report any incidents immediately to the PM or management. Ensure completion of near misses, ACE cards and other safety documentation for the crew. This includes leading all toolbox/JHA meeting and hazard identification.
- Responsible for ensuring all field level project safety documentation is in place. Crew lead should also assist in ensuring all crew members have proper certification and training.
- Ensuring proper documentation and archiving of project records. Field level review of ALL required data and ensuring that all data is submitted/uploaded daily for review. Consistent delayed data uploading will not be tolerated.
- Creating strategies for risk mitigation on projects. PM is responsible for providing all project workers with everything required to perform their job safely (meets all OH&S requirements as a supervisor).
- Efficiently solving field level issues with minimal assistance.
- Assisting in planning and scheduling of crew shifts and updating as changes occur.
- Ensuring positive team morale for all project staff. Managing conflicts within crews and reporting to PM/management when necessary. .
- Organizing the transfer of the entire set of Project deliverables upon completion.
- Keeping an organized file structure and adhering to all naming conventions.
- Maintain billable targets set by management.
- 3-5 years demonstrated experience in pipeline surveys.
- Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and time lines.
- Ensuring that project deliverables are compliant with all applicable codes and standards.
- Demonstrating a commitment to Safety, Environment, Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Proven ability to successfully meet schedules and control crew downtime
- An aptitude for practical problem solving
- Desire and ability to work in and contribute to project teams
- Excellent team leadership skills and experience
