Amylyx was started in 2013 by two Brown University students who had an ambitious goal: to improve the lives of people with neurodegenerative diseases by addressing the root cause. Their research and close collaboration with the ALS community ultimately resulted in our first commercial product, which is now approved in the U.S. and conditionally approved in Canada.

As the Medical Advisor, you will work with passionate cross functional colleagues focused on bringing new medicines to patients. You will be a scientific expert who partners with medical/marketing/regulatory/market access and others locally and globally to advance and optimize commercialization in Canada.
As a member of the Canadian Medical Affairs team, you will be responsible for providing input into the development of the medical plan and work on field-based strategies and tactics to enhance awareness and advocacy amongst healthcare professionals' (HCP).
Additionally, you will engage and build credible relationships with selected national clinical experts and lead the development and execution of national medical programs.

As the Medical Advisor, you will work with passionate cross functional colleagues focused on bringing new medicines to patients. You will be a scientific expert who partners with medical/marketing/regulatory/market access and others locally and globally to advance and optimize commercialization in Canada.
As a member of the Canadian Medical Affairs team, you will be responsible for providing input into the development of the medical plan and work on field-based strategies and tactics to enhance awareness and advocacy amongst healthcare professionals' (HCP).
Additionally, you will engage and build credible relationships with selected national clinical experts and lead the development and execution of national medical programs.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Lead medical initiatives for early pipeline products and transition responsibilities to field medical at the appropriate time
- Lead and/or support clinical initiatives across Amylyx’s portfolio including investigator and site recommendations, site initiation visits, trial recruitment, and ongoing support for the site and CRO
- Build /develop relationships with selected, national experts and Global medical teams as needed
- Represent medical on local and/or global medical and/or cross functional teams including brand teams
- Lead the scientific review of promotional materials
- Lead national Medical Affairs programs as requested, including advisory boards, publications, educational programs and congresses
- Provide input into the development of the Canadian strategic plan in partnership with marketing
- Lead the creation and/or adaptation of high quality, credible scientific resources such as slide presentations
- Drive efforts to support data generation areas of interest with identified HCPs; provide insights on potential investigators, support HCP research proposals to internal stakeholders and appropriately liaise with investigators throughout process and study conduct
- Deliver compliant comprehensive, scientific accurate, up-to-date and fair-balanced scientific communication and education to external experts, KOLs, and payers on topics including disease state, company assets, treatment landscape, research advances as well as responses to unsolicited inquiries
- Co-lead the Canadian medical team budget
- Provide scientific training cross functionally as requested
- Maintain compliance with all internal and external legal and regulatory guidelines
- Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD or MD)
- >5 years of relevant medical pharmaceutical industry experience with a consistent track record of performance
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific/medical benefits of pharmaceutical products to the medical community
- Strong data analysis skills
- Proven interpersonal skills with respect to relationship building, influencing and engaging with teams.
- Ability to lead and inspire without authority
- Strong project and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and function successfully as a matrixed team member
- Strong decision-making, strategic, and innovative thinking capabilities
- Neurology experience, neuromuscular disorders experience beneficial
- Established networks with neurology HCPs
- Previous experience in protocol writing, clinical trial development and management
- >5 years of medical pharmaceutical experience
- >2 years of experience in Neurology
- Bilingualism – French/English
