Location: Luton, Dublin or London - Onsite 3 days per week
Join us as a Director of Patient Safety, Cluster Lead for UK, Ireland and Malta (UKIM). In this role, you will be accountable for local patient safety activities, ensuring compliance with AstraZeneca (AZ) requirements and global and local regulatory requirements for Pharmacovigilance. You will also manage a team of Safety specialists and Managers across UK and Ireland. This is an opportunity to be part of our Oncology R&D team, where we are committed to eliminating cancer as a cause of death.
Accountabilities:
As the Director of Patient Safety, you will be responsible for directing and providing expertise, tactical and scientific leadership to your local Patient Safety teams. You will maintain up-to-date organisation charts, job descriptions, training records and development plans for the local Patient Safety personnel. You will ensure that processes, procedures and systems are in place for recording, processing and submission of Adverse Events (AEs) from spontaneous and solicited sources, from local non-interventional studies and Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) from local interventional clinical studies in accordance with local Health Authority requirements. You will also maintain oversight of all safety related processes, issues and brand activities within the countries, including product risk management plans and associated activities. Additionally, you will act as the main contact person for audits and inspections in your countries of responsibility.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- Life science degree or appropriate professional qualifications
- Experience of pharmacovigilance
- Experience of the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Demonstrable knowledge of legislation governing pharmacovigilance in the UK and EU.
- Experience of external customer interaction
- Ability to effectively influence and interact with cross-functional colleagues
- Line Management Experience
- Advanced degree within field and/or professional certification
