Financial Controller

Chilworth Partnership (also trading as Venture Recruitment Partners) are working with an international and cutting edge pharmaceutical business, based near Salisbury, in their search for a Financial Controller as they embark on their next phase of development. There will be an expectation to be in the office three days a week.

Reporting to Senior Management, responsibilities will include:

• Ensure that financial control processes are fully adhered to and to monitor and enhance these processes as appropriate.
• Assist with the quarterly and annual reporting obligations of the parent company and to ensure all relevant reporting deadlines are met.
• Oversee the annual audit of company accounts and to ensure they are filed on a timely basis each year.
• Ensure all payroll processing is carried out accurately and efficiently and that all HMRC employee payroll obligations are met.
• Ensure that VAT reporting obligations are met and communications effectively with HMRC in this regard.
• Ensure that the statutory filing obligations at Companies House and other relevant corporate legal obligations are met.
• Responsible for preparing and reviewing of monthly account reconciliations and posting of related journal entries for the UK company.
• Production of monthly employee R&D qualifying cost analysis report for R&D Tax Credit calculation purposes.
• Oversight of the accounts payable function.

You will:

• Be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and educated to degree level.
• Have experience of working in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
• Experience managing corporate tax filings and related HMRC requirements.
• Have had exposure to R&D Tax Credits
• Sound working knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS
