The post holder will work alongside the Lead Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist to provide professional, timely, expert, evidence-based, safe and cost effective pharmaceutical advice to WHSSC. They will also provide high quality information and support to stakeholders to deliver improved patient care strongly linked to WHSSC commissioning policies.
They will inform and support a portfolio of work streams, projects, services, and initiatives in order to deliver WHSSC’s Medicines Optimisation Strategic objectives and priorities.
Through collaboration and partnership with the service providers, the post holder will work to ensure that Medicines Management across WHSSC commissioned specialised services provides best value for money and optimise use of public funding. A key goal for the Medical Team at WHSSC is to ensure that the pharmaceutical needs of the Welsh population are met whilst maintaining prudent healthcare.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Medicines Optimisation StrategySupport the development and implementation of the WHSSC Medicines Optimisation Strategy to ensure successful delivery of WHSSC commissioned medicines within specialised services so the pharmaceutical needs of the population of Wales are met.
To work with WHSSC and HB/Trust colleagues across Wales to commission and performance manage implementation and delivery of the Medicines Optimisation Strategy and an annual action plan.
