Job Overview:

As a Senior Machine Learning Scientist, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to harness the power of data in the biotechnology space. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, utilizing your expertise in machine learning and statistical analysis to extract valuable insights from complex biological datasets. Your work will contribute to advancements in drug discovery, personalized medicine, and other critical areas of biotechnology.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Apply advanced machine learning techniques to analyze and interpret large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, proteomics, and clinical data.
2. Develop predictive models to support drug discovery, biomarker identification, and therapeutic development.
3. Collaborate with biologists, bioinformaticians, and other stakeholders to understand domain-specific challenges and develop data-driven solutions.
4. Conduct statistical analyses to validate hypotheses, assess model performance, and derive meaningful conclusions from experimental data.
5. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning, statistics, and biotechnology to inform and enhance data analysis methodologies.
6. Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business objectives into actionable data science projects.
7. Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
8. Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance and best practices within the organization.

Required Skills:

1. Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or a related discipline.
2. Proven experience (4 years) working as a Data Scientist in the biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industry.
3. Strong expertise in applying machine learning algorithms to biological data, with a focus on feature engineering, model interpretation, and validation.
4. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas)
5. Solid background in statistical analysis, experimental design, and hypothesis testing.
6. Familiarity with biotechnology concepts, data types, and experimental methodologies.
7. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset for approaching complex scientific challenges.
