Hill's Pet Nutrition Canada, a division of Colgate Palmolive, stands as a premier manufacturer of high-quality, science-based pet food. We are actively looking for a skilled and strategic Brand Manager to become a valuable addition to this team. In this role, you will build Hill’s Prescription Diet brand equity among pet owners and the Veterinary Health Care Team, leading to increased recommendation and market share within the veterinary channel. This objective is accomplished by the development of brand strategy objectives and annual plans through identifying veterinary staff and pet owner insights, and translating them into “go to market plans” that drive brand endorsement and market share. Works with Retail Activation Manager, Professional Vet Affairs and Vet Channel Commercial Team to ensure excellent program execution to achieve the brand’s targeted strategic/tactical results while delivering the annual brand P&L commitments.
What You Will Do:
Brand Management - 45%
  • Assists in the development and execution of programs and product launches to achieve specific brand and category objectives (share, volume, distribution)
  • Analysis of consumption and share data to identify business performance trends and issues. Provide reporting and insights to the commercial team.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of the consumer and professional media plans, including establishing media plan tactics with agency partners, managing development of assets and measuring success.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with Hill’s global colleagues and with agency partners. Participates in relevant meetings and in Go To Market teams.
  • Assists in developing and understanding consumer research and insights through knowledge of industry trends and of research reports.
  • Manages marketing support for industry trade shows and key veterinary association partnerships/sponsorships
Sales Team Support - 25%
  • Assists in providing sales communication on innovation and marketing programs to the Business Account Managers and field sales team.
  • Assist with the management of RRD POP materials inventory to ensure efficiencies
  • Collaborates with field sales team to manage marketing requests (in-clinic signage requests, customer specific tactics)
  • Assists Sr. Brand Manager in developing and delivering presentations at sales meetings and monthly sales team conference calls.
Digital and eComm Support - 20%
  • Responsible for accurate and timely product information (pack shots, thumbnails, marketing copy, etc) for Canada (En and Fr) in the digital asset management tool
  • Leads the strategy and content calendar for professional CRM
  • Supports the ecomm team with asset creation for promotions and IMCs
  • Provides support to the eComm team on digital shelf assets when needed.
Business & Financial Management - 10%
  • Monitor achievement of Brand objectives vs. target and helps develops strategies to address changes in the business environment as appropriate
  • Assists with annual budgeting process and monthly CBP discipline to forecast sales volume, GTN and A&P spend and to develop and deliver presentations to leadership and\or executive teams.
  • Manage the assigned A&P budget and ensure timely and accurate submission of PO and invoice payment requests
  • Timely and accurate submission of T&E expenses
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related business field required
  • 3+ years marketing experience in the consumer products/pharmaceutical industry, preferably with B2B or professional channel marketing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
