We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join a leading Pharmaceutical / Medical Device company based in the Bradford area. As the Business Development Manager you will be responsible to maintain current client accounts by regular communication and promotion of a quality service to coordinate Microbiology testing from customer query to the laboratory.

This is a remote role with travel required to clients and customers across the UK. You will represent 3 service lines across microbiology and chemistry testing across Global Pharma / Medical Device companies.


Your duties as the Business Development Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. As the BD Manager you will provide key account management support for clients, maintain CRM details whilst working closely with team members in the Commercial department to promote company testing services and improve quotation metrics through follow up activities.

2. You will ensure that work is quoted for in compliance with the appropriate published standards (eg BP, Ph.Eur, USP, BSI), or with the sponsor’s protocols and with in-house QMS standards.

3. The BD Manager will undertake Continuing Professional Development and catalogue experience and CPD in training records. You will also work in compliance with GLP, GMP as well as policies and procedures of the Company QMS.

4. You will be responsible for the production of BRS templates based upon quotes. The BD manager will assist in marketing activities such as attendance at conferences, trade shows etc.

5. You will manage prospective leads through to quotation stage and new account development. It will also be crucial to achieve sales targets whilst produce sales reports on agreed time scales.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Business Development Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree or equivalent within Life Sciences.

2. Proven industry experience in a similar sales role with the ability to maintain a high level of quality throughout the sales process.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience in selling medical devices or service solutions to medical device/ pharma companies is ideal.
