Summary / Purpose Of The Position
The Alliance manager is responsible for developing and managing the alliance with Teijin, partner contracted by Ipsen to distribute and / or promote Somatuline. She / He has a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships that can drive business growth and create mutually beneficial opportunities.
In addition, as PMO manager for Ipsen KK, she / he is responsible for assisting Ipsen KK Country lead for both strategic and operational plans, business cases, launches, and market expansion in full collaboration with Local and Global functions (Marketing, Medical, Access, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Legal…)
This role requires an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry landscape in Japan.
The job scope entails following skills: Project Management, Business analytics, Market intelligence, Negotiation, Cross Functional collaboration, Launch and Market entry, Business Development & Expansion, Risk Management, Finance Management, Regulatory and Compliance.
Main Responsibilities / Job Expectations
  • Drive Alliance performance
  • Collaborate with local partner to define market potential and growth opportunities and improve their focus and level of operational execution
  • Challenge local partner’s ambition and determine realistic business goals (market share, access and prices, local sales, net sales, market growth, …)
  • Ensure Global Strategy and Operational plans are well understood and well implemented by local partner
  • Implement regular touch points with local partner to ensure consistent reporting KPIs (Commercial, Medical, Access, Supply…) and business understanding with meaningful details and summary
  • Collaborate with Finance/Supply Chain and monitor orders patterns and continuous supply flow to maintain sufficient local level of stock
  • Manage Budget & forecast exercises and financial aspects of alliances including revenue projections, price reduction and related impact
  • Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management on alliance performance
  • Work closely with Global Asset Team to support local market strategy and share best practices with local partner
  • Act as PMO manager in support of Ipsen KK country lead for all strategic and commercial projects, including for:
  • Act as local PMO to prepare/support market for future launches, including partnering with Global Assets, Global Marketing & Medical, MA and Regulatory Affairs to define launch sequence and RA/MA pathway/roadmap.
  • Participate in developing business cases for new product launches and support decision making through price analytics linked to patient journey, growth drivers and dynamic market conditions
  • Assist Japan country lead with any other ad-hoc projects (market research, marketing) in preparation for future launches
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience
Education / Certifications:
  • Master’s degree in Business, Marketing or life sciences
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Specialty Care and pharmaceutical company/industry
  • Experience in managing partner is a plus
  • Fluent in Japanese and English
