Jackson Hogg are working with one of our cients in the North East, assisting to recruit a site elctrcial and facilities manager.
Our client are a pharmaceutical manufacturing company, offering turnkey solutions from manufacture through to distribution and packaging. Due to growth, they are looking for an experienced facilities manager to head up their existing team of engineers and craftspeople, taking responsibility for the site electrical infrastructure and facilities systems across their site in the North East.
Key responsibilites :-
  • Managerial responsibility for technicians and craftspeople encompassing work planning, training and administrative duties.
  • Primary managerial responsibility for contractors including due diligence for skills and competency, GMP Compliance, work planning, risk assessment, method statement and permit to work control.
  • Oversee completion, management of change and implementation of reactive, preventative and compliance maintenance routines site wide including:
  • Site HV & LV Electrical Infrastructure including DSEAR
  • Site Facilities such as HVAC including Vacuum & Extraction Systems
  • Refrigeration Systems
  • Support the Sites Compliance Engineer to ensure the sites compliance with mandatory Safety / GMP requirements for all aspects of site facilities & utilities including but not exhaustive:
  • Legionella / Asbestos Management / WRAS / LEV / FGAS / HVAC / LEV Filtration HEPA - DOP testing & containment / PSSR / LOLER / BOAS / Environmental Requirements / Development of all aspects of Safe Systems Of Work covering all risks identified on site / Site Facilities GMP Compliance & Inspection Readiness / Fire Systems Insurance Readiness
  • Management of small Equipment Projects and supporting the Engineering Projects team in the design, implementation, validation and commissioning of Projects site wide
  • When required, assist other departments in production related issues such as fault diagnosis and rectification of breakdowns.
  • Support for the rectification of day to day issues and system failures across different trade functions within engineering.
  • Provide support for other departments across site on issues relating to safety, change control, deviations, CAPA actions
  • Maintenance Revenue Budget awareness and control
  • Drive and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to plant, equipment, people and processes across the whole Facilities & Utilities systems
  • Keep abreast of current best practices and all relevant legislative changes relating to site facilities & utilities
Carry out and partake in additional relevant training & development in support of the role
The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following experience and qualifications :-
  • Time Served Recognised Apprenticeship In an Electrical Engineering Discipline
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering
  • Degree In Electrical Engineering Related Discipline (Preferred)
  • Relevant and demonstrable experience of leading the engineering function in a fast paced environment, ideally within the Pharmaceutical Sector.
  • Experience in managing a multi-discipline Engineering team.
  • Experience in all aspects of Electrical HV & LV Infrastructure, Site Facilities such as HVAC
  • Experience managing DSEAR preferably qualified to Compex EX14
  • Pharma QMS Systems Knowledge - Change Control, Deviation & CAPA processes
On offer is a permanent position with a highly reputable company, who are going through a significant period of growth and investment. The package on offer is as follows :-
  • Basic salay between £45,000-£50,000 depending on experience
  • Flexi days offering (up to an additional 12 days holiday per year)
  • up to 10% matched pension contribution
  • incremental salary increases for high perforomance
  • Annual company bonus scheme
