The Senior Operations Manager, reporting to the Head of Operations, assumes responsibility for providing strategic direction and leadership for all operational endeavors encompassing manufacturing and packaging of oral solid dosage forms, liquid, and/or semi-solids. This role primarily focuses on Packaging operations and involves overseeing a team of supervisors to meet the demand for finished products in the market.
Oversee product release and ensure volume delivery aligns with business plans and customer schedules. Serve as the value stream leader for assigned products, managing resources from inception to completion.
Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the manufacturing (Dispensing, Granulation, Blending, Compression, Encapsulation, and/or Coating) and packaging teams (bottling of tablets, capsules, liquids and/or powders). Drive achievement of company goals with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Collaborate with other departments to support site objectives including quality assurance, quality control, technical services, supply chain, safety and environment, procurement, engineering, maintenance, finance, and human resources.
Ensure equipment readiness and optimal staffing levels to meet established objectives while maintaining compliance with quality standards.
Conduct performance reviews to foster a supportive relationship with supervisors and operators.
Operate within established procedures and oversee operational deviations, directing investigations and ensuring timely resolution.
Provide direct supervision to Production Supervisors across multiple shifts.
Exercise leadership with minimal supervision, collaborating with senior leaders to strategize future changes and translate them into actionable objectives for the department and subordinates.
Cultivate employee engagement and empowerment to promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a Scientific or Engineering field.
Minimum 5 Years Of Managerial Experience In Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
Experience in team management and cross-functional collaboration.
