- proactively manage the scientific relationships between Kyowa Kirin and selected therapy area experts and academics.
- reactively support local Healthcare Professional needs.
- support internal knowledge on therapy area and product.
- Actively liaise with the clinical development & HEOR teams to identify data gaps and ensure timely delivery of key studies and projects.
- provide insight to support the design & delivery of the Medical Strategy and to help shape the business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Maintain deep level of scientific knowledge on the full dataset of assigned Kyowa Kirin therapy areas and relevant treatment options to enable peer to peer level scientific exchange.
- Foster & develop selected National Key External Experts (KEEs) relationships (e.g. key academics) that enhance their understanding of our science and data, engage them in research where appropriate, as well as our understanding of current thinking, insights, gaps and needs of the clinical community.
- Respond to unsolicited enquiries from HCPs in a timely manner using expert knowledge, providing accurate, fair, balanced, and non-promotional scientific information/ presentations relating to licensed and unlicensed indications.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge levels of the Patient Journey Manager team, on latest science and publications by the delivery of internal, therapy area and on-label product training.
- Capture and share in-field insights to enhance Kyowa Kirin’s understanding of the external healthcare environment and support medical and business strategy development.
- Play role in key medical activities in line with the medical strategy including actively planning and participate in advisory boards, and clinical investigator meetings.
- Feed into the medical strategy with insight from the field and from peers in the global and regional Medical Affairs organisation. Develop the medical plan, following this strategy, aligned and embedded into the cross-functional brand plan, by working with cross-functional colleagues in Sales, Marketing, and Payer Value & Patient Access.
- Creation of medical materials (e.g. literature reviews, medical letters, slide kits etc.) and review/approval of medical and promotional materials.
- Take an active role in the design and delivery of Medical Education initiatives in partnership with the Patient Journey Manager role.
- Where appropriate to do so, facilitate and promote innovative Medical activities involving the use of digital channels.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of health policy, rare disease and the pharmaceutical industry environment.
- Directly liaise with Clinical Operations & HEOR to contribute to the successful delivery of data generation activities, clinical development programs and compassionate use programs (including but not limited to support of company sponsored trials, registries, investigator sponsored studies, early access programs, etc.).
- Attend selected international and local medical conferences to learn, gather insights and provide scientific exchange, take an active role in Symposiums and Scientific Meetings & provide briefing to the speakers of scientific events.
- Support Corporate Affairs with Patient Organisation collaborations where required.
- Timely and accurate use of the customer record management (CRM) system and submitting of managerial reports.

- Ensures all activities are carried out within the framework of pharmaceutical regulations, strategy, and the company's quality policy. Follows the promotional information charter and applies it according to the terms of any certification reference framework in force. Applies Kyowa Kirin's processes which consider the regulations in force (promotional information charter, advertising, anti-gift law, transparency, pharmacovigilance, GDPR, etc.).
- Scientific background (Education or previous experience)
- Experience (of field role) in pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent local language required; good English preferred
- Digital experience/expertise (Cx/Px strategy, Omnichannel implementation and Virtual engagement, email, webinar, Zoom/Teams)
- Extensive knowledge of local, regional, and national health systems and care delivery processes.
- Travelling in territory – expected on a weekly basis
- At home and office-based computer use – email, Virtual meetings
- Limited lifting expected
- Driving - must hold valid driving license
