The pharmacy department at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust (University Hospital Lewisham & Queen Elizabeth Woolwich) have vacancies for permanent full-time Senior Medicines Management Pharmacy Technicians to join our friendly ward based teams in an exciting patient-facing role.
We are looking for forward thinking, hardworking and dedicated band 5 senior medicines management pharmacy technicians to work closely with ward pharmacists, band 4 & 5 pharmacy technicians, trainee foundation pharmacists and senior medicines management assistants, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary team. You will help to deliver a high quality patient-centred, ward based clinical pharmacy service across the Trust.
Medicines reconciliation, transcribing inpatient orders, dispensing, patient counselling, training and line management duties will be part of your daily duties.
In addition to excellent communication and organisation skills you will be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and preferably hold ACPT and medicines management qualifications.

  • To develop, maintain and manage the safe, efficient and cost-effective supply of medicines to patients on the wards at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.
  • To co-ordinate the use of patient’s own medication, individual patient dispensing, discharge planning and patient education on medicines in conjunction with the ward-based medicines management teams across a variety of clinical areas
  • Implementing developments to meet the needs of the patient.
  • To support the Chief and Deputy Chief Pharmacy Technician with the delivery of any service developments associated with ward-based clinical pharmacy service required to meet local and national requirements.
  • To undertake line management duties as necessary
