As a Business Development Representative specializing in oncology clinical studies, you will serve as a field representative, actively engaging in canvassing efforts to identify and bring new client opportunities to LumaBridge. The ideal candidate will leverage their prior business development skills within the CRO industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of oncology clinical studies. Additionally, the right candidate will have experience in leading the sales operations process to build and deliver quality proposals and budgets while managing a small team of support professionals.

Location: This is a home-based position. Travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Acquisition: Actively canvass and identify potential clients within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries who could benefit from LumaBridge's expertise in oncology clinical studies.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and academic institutions, to understand their research needs and position LumaBridge as a valuable partner.
  • Industry Expertise: Utilize your specific understanding of oncology clinical studies to articulate the unique value proposition of LumaBridge's services, providing tailored solutions to meet the client's research objectives.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including project management, scientific, and operational teams, to ensure a seamless transition from business development to project initiation.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes within the CRO and oncology sectors to inform business development strategies.
  • Sales Operations Oversight: Oversee the proposals and budget team to ensure proposals and budgets are delivered on time and with quality and precision.
  • Management: Establish goals, manage objectives and mentor team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in life sciences; advanced degree in business or related field a plus.
  • Proven track record of success in business development within the CRO industry required; with a focus on oncology clinical studies preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the drug development process and the specific intricacies in oncology research.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in remote-based client outreach and engagement; proficient in modernized selling across all technology platforms with limited in-person contact to drive new relationships.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Established sponsor relationships in the oncology space is a plus.


Associate Director, Business Development

  • Ability to sell CRO services to small biotech customers and overcome barriers in the procurement process to successfully win new business.
  • Mentor junior or entry level business development representatives.
  • Assist in development and/or review of business development strategies.
  • Established sponsor relationships within the oncology space required.
  • 2-5 years experience within business development or related role within the CRO industry preferred.
  • Advanced degree in business or related field preferred.


Director, Business Development

  • Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and scaling high-performance teams.
  • Strategic thinking and vision to drive the long-term growth and success of the business development function.
  • 5-7 years experience within business development or related roles within a CRO required.
  • Prior leadership experience within a business development role is a plus.
  • Advanced degree in business or related field required.
