Location Vancouver BC.
Salary Range $62,500 - $66,000
*While this is a remote position, there is a requirement to attend in-office meetings/events when requested.(1-3 times per quarter). Applicants must be located within the Metro Vancouver area or within Communiting distance*

About the role
The People & Culture Coordinator supports the People & Culture (P&C) team by managing full-cycle recruitment, on/off-boarding, benefits administration, employee management, and basic office administration. The position reports directly to the Director, People & Culture and will function in an environment where a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information are required. The People & Culture Coordinator is expected to exhibit a high degree of diplomacy and discretion.

About the role
The People & Culture Coordinator supports the People & Culture (P&C) team by managing full-cycle recruitment, on/off-boarding, benefits administration, employee management, and basic office administration. The position reports directly to the Director, People & Culture and will function in an environment where a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information are required. The People & Culture Coordinator is expected to exhibit a high degree of diplomacy and discretion.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment and selection process including collaborating with hiring managers on creating and updating job descriptions, posting positions, screening applications, conducting initial phone interviews, scheduling/coordinating interviews, conducting reference checks and background checks, drafting and extending offers, updating candidates on their application status and providing interview feedback when necessary and appropriate.
- Support the Director, P&C in identifying and implementing creative sourcing strategies and methods based on market knowledge to source and attract talent.
- Coordinate new hire set-up and conduct onboarding and orientation to ensure a positive new hire experience
- Coordinate off-boarding process for departing employees, ensuring company policies and processes are followed.
- Maintain employee information and files in HRIS and conduct audits to ensure it is up-to-date. Collaborate with the Mercalis HR team as needed.
- Provide administrative support in areas of Benefits, Reward & Recognition, Culture, and DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion).
- Coordinate company initiatives and events as required (e.g., Town Halls, Company-wide meetings, social events (virtual or in-person - as appropriate), etc)
- Provide office administration support such as acting as the first point of contact for the Vancouver office building and the liaison between our 3rd party I.T vendor and Policy Reporter.
- Perform ad-hoc People & Culture duties as required.
- Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources Management
- 1-3 years’ related work experience in a Human Resources Administrative role
- 1- 2 years of recruitment experience, preferably in the healthcare and/or technology space
- Experience recruiting both in Canada and in the U.S. is considered a strong asset
- Passion for creating positive employee culture and experience is a must
- Understanding of Canadian employment and labour laws; basic understanding of U.S employment and labour laws is an asset
- Highly sensitive, strong sense of work ethic, confidentiality and integrity
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate policies and procedures effectively
- Ability to present knowledge and address questions in a professional manner
- Self motivated with exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders (internal and external)
- Proficient in both Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Suite products (Google Sheet, Google Docs, Google Drive, etc)
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and activities in a face-paced environment
