About The Role
Location: Barcelona.
365 days a year our global manufacturing and supply network works to ensure our patients have the treatments they need to live longer and healthier lives. Join our Supplier Relationship Team and take on a highly operational role where you will drive planning, scheduling, and order management to ensure the agreed delivery performance level.
As a Supply Operations Manager, your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain strong relationships with different external partners who manufacture medicines for Novartis, guaranteeing high customer service levels. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in projects impacting our products, implementing new IT software and provide input into monthly sales and operations process. This role is focused on management of operations in the 0-6 months horizon, providing a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

As a Supply Operations Manager, your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain strong relationships with different external partners who manufacture medicines for Novartis, guaranteeing high customer service levels. Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with CMO's to coordinate operational activities, discuss Operational Standards & Supply Chain Excellence KPIs, providing performance feedback, root cause analysis, and implementing improvements.
- Establish and coordinate an efficient manufacturing and supply/demand plan, balancing customer service level, production capabilities, inventory levels, and operational costs. Monitoring Open Order Book and
- Provide input to internal S&OP meetings and into external sessions with Suppliers based on segmentation assessment frequencies.
- Manage Novartis TechOps inventories, analysing and optimizing inventory turns, waste reduction, and KPI/CSL optimization.
- Design and implement adaptable supply chain models that support business strategies and adapt to market conditions.
- Coordinate engineering changes, product line extensions, and new product launches for smooth production transitions.
- Ensure timely order fulfilment for products manufactured at External Suppliers, including shipment management.
- Maintain accurate planning and master data parameters for active assortment in collaboration with local master data management.
- Verify transport conditions, flow of materials, invoices, reconcile toll charges (if applicable), and build and maintain Bill of Materials.

Role Requirements
Essential requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, economics, or scientific field that includes supply chain management, logistics, or planning.
- Hold an APICS CPIM or APICS CSCP certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of planning experience in a pharmaceutical operations environment.
- Experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environment.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical operations principles and supply chain practices.
- Proficiency in Materials Management principles, including MPS, MRP, CRP, DRP, SFC, purchasing, distribution, import/export, transportation, etc.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal functions and external stakeholders globally.
- Solid command of SAP R3 (MRP, order management, BOM setup, invoicing, master data, etc.)
- Fluency in English.
- Knowledge of SAP 4Hana will be highly valued.
