About The Role

The Human Resources Manager will champion our core values and empower our employees based in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe to do their best work, be themselves, and feel part of a cohesive, global community.

This role will report to the Vice President of Talent and will be instrumental in employee benefits coordination and ensuring new team members are set up for success. The ideal candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, professional maturity, and excel in fast-paced environments. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a successful track record of working autonomously while simultaneously producing high-quality results.

Core Responsibilities

Recruiting, Sourcing & Hiring

  • Post job descriptions on job boards (Careers Site, LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.)
  • Source candidates via LinkedIn, Indeed, and internal ATS. Promote jobs internally and connect with referrals from internal employees.
  • Schedule candidate interviews with hiring managers and hiring team members using Outlook calendar and Zoom scheduler.
  • Assist the VP of Talent in maintaining communication with candidates throughout the interview, offer, and onboarding process.
  • Assist the VP of Talent in maintaining communication with our international recruiter network.

HR Operations & Employee Retention

  • Administer, manage, and maintain employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, STD, LTD, and 401(k) programs.
  • In partnership with the VP of Talent, create a personalized onboarding experience for each new employee.
  • Maintain and update employee data in the HRIS (compensation, job title, benefits premiums, personal details, etc.)
  • Ensure a positive off-boarding experience by working with employees on their post-employment needs related to benefits, payroll, and equipment returns.
  • Lead our employee recognition programs, including (but not limited to) celebrating company anniversaries and introducing new employees via Slack.
  • Proactively manage the bi-annual performance review process, ensuring all performance reviews are completed on time and process related compensation changes via the HRIS and benefits carrier websites.
  • Continually update and maintain employee records in compliance with government regulations. Displays ultimate care and concern for data integrity and the privacy of others.
  • Champion the company’s DEI strategy as developed by the VP of Talent and Chief Operating Officer.
  • Support the internal HR, Operations, and Legal teams in ensuring the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance and improve efficiency and scalability as directed.

Who You Are

  • A Human Resources professional with five or more years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, psychology, or related field. SHRM-CP or PHR is a strong plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, process-oriented and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and experience in displaying professional maturity in difficult situations.
  • A firm believer in the philosophy that the people at a business are the most important asset.
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment by being resourceful and collaborative.
  • Committed to quality results with a focus on solutions.
  • Comfortable with rapid organizational growth and the resulting environment of transparency and exciting change.

What We Would Like To See

  • Experience and comfort with a remote-first organization.
  • HR experience supporting a global company and/or a start-up is a plus.
  • Proven success delivering for organizations that have undergone significant growth, change, and/or international expansion.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Intellectual drive and a commitment to staying abreast of the latest trends in Human Resources.
  • Excellent computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Position Type:This position is full-time. We are a largely remote organization with offices in Chicago and Barcelona. We empower our employees to decide whether they’d like to work from our offices or remotely from a location of their choice.
