Role: Commercial Lead

Location: United Kingdom, West Drayton (Minimum 3 days per week in the office so needs to be within a commutable distance)

Company: Biopharmaceutical company specializing in reproductive health, maternal health, gastroenterology and urology

Duration: Permanent

The Commercial Lead oversees essential cross-functional leadership in developing and executing Commercial strategies, as well as implementing related activities, to optimize sales and revenues for the UK & Ireland cluster.

The position will primarily concentrate on negotiating commercial agreements for the business, particularly with pharmacies and clinics. This will encompass both existing products and those being actively promoted, spanning across all therapy areas.


  • Leads the development and execution of Commercial strategies, including legacy products, to maximize revenue.
  • Identifies commercial opportunities to enhance the company's portfolio value and drive business growth.
  • Manages performance of the company's UK heritage Brands to achieve revenue objectives and optimize ROI.
  • Oversees tender and discount activities with public and private bodies.
  • Manages Commercial contracts and leads negotiations for current and future offerings.
  • Analyzes data to support business cases and evaluates sales performance.
  • Develops reporting functions to assess sales and Commercial activity impact.
  • Participates in projects to improve sales, service levels, and reduce costs.
  • Leads Local Customer Service functions and ensures compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements.


  • Education: University degree in business, commerce, finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in Commercial Management/Excellence.
  • Thorough understanding of NHS structure in UK and HSE structure in Ireland.
  • Skills: Strong Commercial acumen, knowledge of Commercial contracting and channels, Contract Management experience, advanced negotiation skills, ability to create detailed business cases, Excel proficiency for data management and analytics, project management expertise, strong leadership and communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, adaptability to change and ambiguity, strong computer skills (MS Office, Teams, CRM).
