Hiring Manager: Caroline Jacobs (Outsourcing Manager)
Position can be based in Hull or Slough, UK
The vision of the role is to meet business objectives through insight into vendor capabilities, the outsourcing process, oversight of vendor contracts and performance to enable the timely and cost effective generation of robust clinical evidence. The role requires for the individual to take complete ownership of projects and be comfortable in driving these projects forward. Clinical budget management responsibilities across the portfolio are a key deliverable and there is potential for people management responsibilities.

Your Responsibilities
- Acting as the Outsourcing Lead for designated clinical studies/investigations
- Building effective relationships with Clinical Study Teams, R&D, Medical Affairs, and other key stakeholders, whilst ensuring agreed timelines are met and budgets are effectively managed and communicated.
- Conduct the Outsourcing process by working with the Outsourcing Team, the Clinical and Quality teams to ensure strategic selection of suitable vendor(s).
- Prepare core tender documents including the facilitation of the scope of work (specifications of services) and lead the tender process to critically compare quotations and vendor proposals.
- Conduct commercial and contractual communication and negotiations as a representative of Reckitt with vendor(s), securing the optimal contractual agreement for the company.
- Prepare contracts and change orders for execution with or without legal support to ensure robust contracts are implemented and risks are mitigated.
- Manage clinical study/investigation budgets and effectively communicate updates with key internal stakeholders.
- Drive the productivity agenda to realise cost savings for Reckitt, and ensuring these are reported effectively.
- Monitor, report on and improve vendor performance whilst employing effective vendor relationship management to drive a robust vendor governance and oversight framework.
- At least 4 years of procurement experience or clinical development experience, preferably (but not essential) in a clinical or medical department in pharmaceutical/consumer healthcare/cosmetic industry.
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills with a track record of capturing value and savings.
- Clinical Outsourcing experience preferable but not essential.
- Indirect procurement experience would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of GCP/regulatory standards would be advantageous.
- Excellent organisational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent impact and influence ability.
- Line management experience would be advantageous.
- Contract development and management experience is essential.
- Strong computer literacy (Advanced Microsoft Skills).
