Direct Category Manager

What you will be doing

Reporting to the Head of Procurement you will be managing the contingent workforce, medical consumables, pharmaceuticals, infection control, uniforms, advocacy, pathology, staff training and HR systems totalling approximately £70 million.

You will focus on clinical and people related suppliers including medical consumables, janitorial & cleaning chemicals, medical devices, pharmaceutical provisions, infection control, uniforms, catering and food, advocacy, pathology, staff training and HR systems.

As a Direct Category Manager, you will be:

Writing ITT documentation and running tenders through the company eProcurement platform

Managing the contingent workforce suppliers, including building and implementing the Preferred Supplier List (PSL) for all temporary workforce categories

Continuous review and analysis to ensure PSL compliance.

Internal stakeholder management, ensuring the procurement department is servicing internal customers to the best of our ability whilst being reactive to clinical need.

Managing supplier and product rationalisation and standardisation across multiple divisions to identify synergies and drive savings where applicable.

Ensuring alignment of the right suppliers that fit the vision and profile of Elysium whilst being inclusive of SMEs.

Reviewing local and national contracts to ensure the right agreements are in place across the company whilst being cognisant that one supplier/service may not fit across the entire group.

Sourcing the best quality equipment, goods and services at the most competitive price to enable Elysium to operate successfully.

Tracking savings and quality benefits

Using internal reporting information management tools.

Supporting with project management of complex procurement activities from initial specification stage to contract award.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Sourcing and category management experience within directs

Experience within Healthcare or similar multi-site setting

Good negotiation skills and an ability to influence key decision makers

Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

Ability to structure workload, to plan and multi-task efficiently

Competent with eProcurement platforms and IT solutions

What you will get:

Annual salary of £55,000 - £60,000
