Let’s talk about the Team:
The primary role of Accounting & Reporting function is to apply principles of accounting to prepare journals, analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Key deliverables include compiling and analyzing financial information, preparing journals & balance sheet reconciliations, balance sheet, profit & loss statement, and other reports. Assist in preparation and accurate completion of periodic internal & external financial regulatory & statutory reports. Ensure proper controls for financial risk mitigations (SOX compliance). Review and manage financial performance and expense control. Responsible for liaison with relevant government departments & agencies. Some of the roles within this function may oversee treasury team's activities in relation to cash, funding, and foreign currency risk management.
Let’s talk about the role:
  • The primary objective of General Accounting specialization within Accounting & Reporting Job Family is to maintain daily financial transaction processes and ensure they are recorded accurately; operate efficiently and meet company policy and legislative requirements.
  • Key responsibilities include developing, implementing and/or maintaining one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets, Revenue Reconciliation, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external reporting and financial regulatory requirements, including maintenance of statutory records and support the preparation of statutory accounts, in line with company policy and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure the month end calendar and close timings are maintained and communicated to impacted teams.
  • Supervise the local GL teams ensuring accurate general ledger accounting across all ANZ and APAC.
  • Review and approve reconciliations and reporting prepared by Global Shared Service, Debtors and Retail GL teams.
  • Assess and report on service levels of shared service teams (speed & error rates).
  • Routine reporting over key balance sheet and cost metrics.
  • Prepare inter-entity commission across APAC countries.
  • Liaise with Tax teams on BAS and year end transfer price reviews.
  • Ensure all Policies, SOX Controls and Internal controls relating to all business processes are fully complied with and the quarterly SOX documentation is updated each quarter for review by the Finance Manager.
  • Co-ordinate and execute of all internal and external audit requirements.
  • Work closely with respective EFS, GBS and Global Accounting stakeholders on various initiatives.
  • Coach team members on performance and provide inputs for performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate and support any process, system enhancements (e.g., UAT, RPA).
  • Ad hoc projects for continuous improvement opportunities (e.g., RPA development).
Let’s talk about you:
Required:
  • Financial and managerial experience with at least 5 years involvement in the review and management of financial accounting systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree – Accounting, Business or Finance, CPA/CA qualified.
  • Technical accounting (AIFRS, US GAAP), SOX compliance and reporting skills.
  • Superior financial analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and customer focus.
  • Self-motivating and willing to take ownership.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Oracle, MYOB EXO and/or Xero would be a bonus.
  • Industry experience preferred: Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Wholesale/Retail.
