With a history of over 160 years in the Australian and New Zealand sugar industries, Wilmar Sugar Australia operations span the value chain from sugar cane growing, sugar manufacturing, refining, exporting, and marketing, to the production of renewable electricity, ethanol, and sustainable agricultural products.
Wilmar manufactures over half of Australia's raw sugar, and each year exports enough electricity to power more than 68,000 Australian homes for 12 months. As well as supplying ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to the growing fuel market in Australia, Wilmar also supplies a significant market share to various industries including the pharmaceutical, printing, cleaning, winery, aerosol, animal health and food and beverage industries.
There currently exists a job vacancy for Engineering Superintendent - Mobile, located at our Invicta Mill, the largest sugar mill in the Wilmar Group. In this role, you will oversee the maintenance and capital engineering team with a responsibility for all mobile equipment on site including locomotives, cane bins, cranes, trucks, forklifts and others. Your primary goal is to ensure that work activities are conducted in alignment with the established safety, compliance and schedule to support the efficient operations of our mills.

Something About You
The ideal candidate for this role should hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience with mobile equipment, particularly diesel engines and hydraulics, along with a minimum of 5 years in a technical engineering role within a heavy industrial environment. Ideally these qualifications would be coupled with previous experience within the sugar industry, proficiency in utilizing SAP software, and registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or working towards this.

Responsibilities of this role will include:
- Implementing maintenance and capital execution activities as per the asset strategy
- Assisting the Asset Management teams to develop long to medium term plans and procedures to optimise the overall efficiency and viability of the business.
- Ensure work priorities are established, and the maintenance effort is applied to the correct plant items to ensure the best operational outcome
- Continually review work execution schedules with the Work Coordinator and Site Scheduler to ensure effective and efficient completion of works
- Ensuring compliance with reliability processes, work management practices, procedures and technical standards related to continuous improvement
- Assisting in planning, developing and implementing maintenance and capital budget proposals to cost and performance criteria
- Effectively managing the performance of your team in accordance with Wilmar's policies and procedures
