The Global Scientific Relations Manager (SRM) will:
  • Own and implement the external stakeholder engagement plans including individual stakeholders, scientific societies, and organizations. Ultimately the person is responsible to enable impactful, high quality and compliant engagements between external stakeholders and internal stakeholders throughout a given product's lifecycle.
  • Build and maintaining the knowledge and network of Key External Experts and relevant societies for assigned indications within the therapeutic area TA Oncology.
  • In close collaboration with TA Oncology colleagues including specifically Medical Affairs colleagues and brand teams, the SRM develops and manages execution of the integrated engagement plan for in-line and pipeline products, ensuring activities align with the defined medical objectives, franchise objectives and communication strategy.
  • Structuring and implementation of Key External Engagement activities (e.g., Symposia’s, expert meetings etc.), be able to measure the success of engagements and apply continuous improvements.
  • Lead the long-term partnerships and collaborations raging from research, education and implementation projects with relevant scientific societies and academic organizations.
  • Be overarching accountable for the processes required for successful and compliant external engagements including but not limited to application of EPIC tool, contracting and compliance guidelines and handbooks, reporting requirements etc.
  • Coordinating cross border speaker identification and speaker invitation for the colleagues in ROPU/OPU.
For the senior role, the Global Scientific Relations Manager:
  • Proactively designs and implements the stakeholder engagement strategy by combining the knowledge of external landscape and the TA as well as the brand strategy and medical objectives.
  • Independently lead and be accountable for the overall delivery of the integrated activity plan for the assigned compound or the strategic TA projects and key society collaborations.
  • Contribute to the strategic vision and direction of the scientific relation function within the TA CMR and be able to liaise across the TA and company projects relevant for external stakeholder management .
  • University degree in Natural/Life Sciences and/or business administration functions, PhD, MD
  • Proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and external Stakeholder engagement strategies/tactics
  • Fundamental medical and scientific understanding skills
  • Reliable knowledge in the areas of Compliance, GCP, Communications, Training and Presentation
  • Advanced negotiation and communication, interpersonal and organizational capabilities
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis
  • Fluent in English
For the senior role:
  • Long-term experience in the pharmaceutical industry, in particular the therapeutic area of oncology
  • Sound experience in the international pharmaceutical industry and in international stakeholder relations and medical education
  • Sound leadership experience in driving high-priority projects in collaboration with external partners, global matrix teams, regional/local BI counterparts
  • Excellent networking and cross functional collaboration skills with ability to work in virtual teams
  • Excellent credibility and project management skills
