The Global Transport organization strives to deliver an exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer facing-functions such as distribution, customer service, logistics and transportation across Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.
Global Transport EMEA supports both sectors of Johnson & Johnson: Med.Tech and Pharmaceutical, manages a complex transportation network across Europe, Middle East and Africa supporting various modalities and service levels driving best in class performance operations and transport reliability and leveraging Integrated Logistics Operations (Control Tower) and Third Party Logistic sourcing base.
The Regional Transportation organization focuses on the strategic and operational oversight of Regional Transportation to ensure reliable supply of local DCs and Hubs from Make, to maximize value to Johnson & Johnson.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Manage transportation service functions for Innovative Medicine Segment to ensure reliable and cost-efficient replenishment of the major Hubs, Affiliates DCs and Distributors for Innovative Medicine in EMEA. Support Plant to Plant movements of materials, complinents and APIs in Innovative Medicine manufacturing network. This includes developing, implementing, and administering systems, projects, procedures and processes and providing effective transportation services to meet customer service levels, revenue objectives, and compliance regulations while minimizing risk and overall costs.
As member of the EMEA RTO Innovative Medicine operations team, the Manager is responsible for the flawless operational execution of EMEA RTO IBF lanes. This includes day-to-day operational issue management, transportation/logistics coordination, and project management with freight forwarders, shipping sites, and supply planning.
Manage daily operation of transportation services for product replenishment in the Hubs, Affiliate and Distributor DCs from Manufacturing sites and Hubs, as well as inter-plant shipments of bulk, APIs, etc. within EMEA Innovative medicine network.
Initiate, develop and execute Transportation performance improvement, innovation & cost improvement Projects
Proactively surfaces and resolves key issues with a sense of urgency, demonstrates continuous improvement including transportation lanes, resource management, leveraged value
Solves complex supplier performance & quality problems, operational issues including exception management, development of solutions for business continuity and improves business processes.
Manage and execute NPIs, Tech transfers and SRVs as required
Manage performance with 3PL / 4PL (Control Towers) via metrics and drive continuous improvement
Identify and implement cost optimization through operational improvements while ensuring service, quality, reliability, and compliance to meet set business targets.
Manage research on transportation methods and solutions to improve service, efficiency, and costs through process optimization & innovation.
Drive efficiency in Innovative Medicine IBF Transportation budget: deliver CIP targets through operational improvements while ensuring service, quality, reliability, and compliance. Drive E2E process alignments and Trade-offs, establish input on In-bound freight into Pharm IBP processes
Represent IBF Transportation in E2E IM Supply Chain forums and projects. Collaborate with other functions (Segment, IRTE, Cold Chain, Quality, Safety and Compliance, Global Logistics Procurement)
If required lead transportation analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and support to drive operational excellence
Analyze transportation data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operation excellence and meet expectations.
Work closely with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure timely and accurate transportation services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, procurement, and distribution, to ensure seamless transportation operations.
Monitor transportation budget and expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing expenses within budgetary constraints.
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on transportation performance and initiatives.

Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
6-8 years of proven experience in Transportation, Customer Service or Supply Chain
Minimum 1-3 Years Of People Management Experience
Experience working with highly matrixed global organization required
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Languages: Fluent in English -, other European languages is a plus
• Subject Matter Expertise across Transport Operations (all modes), Logistics, knowledge of order-to-cash, international trade flows, import / export processes and systems including relevant documentation and regulations
• Good knowledge of cool chain distribution, GxP, Dangerous Goods transportation, Safety, Quality and Compliance
• Strong knowledge of cold chain, temp controlled transportation solutions and practices
• Demonstrated project management and change management skills
• Results focused with proven track record of successfully delivering on key initiatives, milestones & deadlines
• Process orientation and analytical mindset with experience in process flow analytics and ability to drive efficiency in Transport Operations
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Experience in working in complex operations across EMEA and matrix organization. High degree of independent judgement & decision making
• Customer focused E2E mindset and collaborative, influence-based leadership and stakeholder management internally and externally (Control Towers, 3PLs)
• Drive for Innovation with proven capability for problem solving, business case development and trade-off alignment, quality & compliance orientation/GDP knowledge
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and E2E value creation through operational efficiency with a focus on Transportation management
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement, execute approved projects is required
• Budget management experience $4-10MM or more is preferred
• Knowledge of a PPM tool is preferred
• Knowledge of PMP/LEAN/SIX SIGMA/APICS/FPX/SDLC methodologies is preferred
• FPX, PMP Certification is preferred
