About You

This role will have key expertise in digital medical engagement to make therapeutic-area (TA) specific strategic plans actionable. They will be embedded in with a pharmaceutical company and provide exceptional operational and executional capabilities for therapeutic area Digital Medical activities and cross-portfolio digital capability building. They will collaborate across functions to drive timely and personalized data dissemination, medical education and services through strategic digital channels with the aim to help Healthcare Practitioners (HCPs), Patients and Payers make the best possible health care decisions. They are expected to maintain an in-depth understanding of the overarching TA medical strategy and customer engagement capabilities in order to operationalize and execute meaningful, seamless and consistent Customer experiences. All with a focus on and bias towards increasing operational efficiencies, action, and iterative improvement.


▪      Operationalize and oversee the execution of strategically integrated digital and analog tactics from orchestrated touchpoint maps to effectively deliver and measure the outcomes of the scientific stories in a seamless, meaningful and consistent Customer experience.

▪      Operationalize, organize, and execute the digital communications channels which enable the medical touchpoint maps including implementing the integrated customer engagement plan, integrated content plan and integrated Medical measurement plan.

▪      Manage the 3rd party partners to deliver on plan, on time, on budget and to the highest quality standard for the integrated Customer engagement plan.

▪      Assist in scaling digital medical capabilities by communicating learnings and standardizing processes and delivery across TAs wherever possible for continuous customer experience improvement.

▪      Track pharmaceutical and outside industry trends in digital medical engagement, customer experience; identify engagement-related innovations that could potentially benefit Customers and teams; introduce innovations and opportunities to the organization in a meaningful and measurable way.

▪      Foster a digital and integrated customer experience mindset across the organization.

▪      Identify or co-create medical engagement pilots, by designing the pilot business case, measurement criteria, and track success, learnings, leading to scaling decisions, or enterprise learning opportunities.

▪      Act as a guardian for high standards of compliance, ethics and safety; putting Patients at the center of all actions.

▪      Ensure Digital Medical and product information and engagement communications are provided with the highest ethical standards in compliance with organizational policies/SOPs.


▪      Relevant pharma communications, digital marketing, and pharma experience.

▪      Advanced degree preferably MBA / Marketing Communications or in Medical, Scientific or Healthcare disciplines.

▪      Medical Affairs or similar type experience in healthcare functions preferred.

▪      Experience in Pharmaceuticals or Biotech industry.

▪      Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.

▪      Experience in the organization and execution of specific channels: Web, Social, Email and 3rd party partners.

▪      Experience leading in multiple therapeutic areas; Oncology, Neurology, Ophthalmology preferred.


▪      Ability to influence and inspire individuals and teams.

▪      Breadth of experience in digital communications strategies, tactics and market trends.

▪      Ability to understand, interpret, operationalize and manage teams around strategic planning objectives and end-to-end omnichannel communications executions.

▪      Ability to coalesce, motivate, evaluate, guide, and drive digital team executional performance against the digital medical communications plan.

▪      Depth of knowledge and experience in web and social medical channels.

▪      Ability to navigate complex and challenging situations and thrive in an ambiguous environment.

▪      Strong account management orientation and focus.

▪      Adaptive thinking and a strong, critical mindset.

▪      Strong business acumen and presentation skills.

▪      Highly proficient at project planning, budgeting, and oversight.

▪      Forward-thinking and adaptable to dynamic situations.

▪      Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.


▪      This is a remote position with the potential for some business travel.
