Job Description
As Sales Specialist at LGC Standards you will build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and grow the territory revenue of the Standards business, with a primary focus on the Reference Materials and Analytical Standards product lines. In this role you are first point of contact and provide technical sales support to our clients ensuring a smooth process and positive customer experience. This role is a Hybrid position with a 50/50 split of working from home and our site in Wesel, Germany.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own all Transactional accounts in an assigned geography (DACH region) and represent the entire LGC Standards product portfolio at new and existing customers, across all end-markets such as Pharma, Biotech, Environmental, etc.
  • Identify and close new prospect opportunities, generated from a combination of prospecting and qualification in collaboration with our marketing department or self-generated leads
  • Actively engage with customers via email, phone calls and online meetings to qualify leads, convert prospects, follow-up on quotations and drive new sales
  • Use LGC’s sales tools and virtual capabilities to prospect, nurture, close opportunities and conduct ongoing territory planning
  • Close cooperation with marketing to launch new products and the core end-market team to identify competitor activity and trends
  • Be responsible for the daily management of relevant service cloud cases, ensuring tasks are dealt with and a proper response time is guaranteed
Qualifications
  • Scientific background with a degree in any applicable sector: Pharmaceutical, Life Science/Biotech, Environmental/Food/Life sciences, Industrial sciences or chemistry
  • Experience in selling technical products used in research and/or analytical laboratories
  • Open and adaptable personality with a desire to succeed in a commercial environment
  • Experience in generating sales leads and managing existing accounts
  • Team player; collaboration with colleagues from different departments
  • Proficiency in German (min C1) and strong English skills (min B2) are a must
