We are looking for a highly specialized Wash-off Field Application Engineer to join our team, to act as the centre of expertise on Wash-off label application technology.
The Role
In this specialist role, you will be a dedicated expert in Wash-off technology, and will act as an MCC ambassador, providing both on-site and remote technical support to our customers within the EMEA area and further afield. You will conduct line audits at customer’s bottling sites to assess the effectiveness of Wash-off PSL on glass bottles and you will be expected to be on-site when a customer introduces Wash-off labels to their portfolio, ensuring line preparation is effectively fit-for-purpose and first-off production runs operate smoothly. You will also be responsible for training customers in the proper use of Wash-off products and procedures and you will create, update and maintain detailed documentation regarding the technical specifications of equipment and specific labels. You will work closely with technical colleagues, from both a technical service aspect as well as from a R&D perspective. Ultimately, the success of our wash-off products and our internal knowledge bank rests with you!
The Person
To succeed in this role you will be educated to a minimum of degree level in a mechanical/electrical engineering discipline and have several years prior working knowledge of application technology, principles and techniques in a similar role, as well as strong technical expertise in PSL Wash-off processes (including functional materials and chemistries). You will also have knowledge and experience of working with industrial glass bottle washers and you will have the proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex Wash-off issues. You will possess excellent computer skills (i.e. MS Office) and you will have knowledge of 2D AutoCAD. You will have a strong health & safety ideology, keeping the safety of yourself and others as your first priority.
You will be adept at dealing with and communicating with all levels within a customer organisation, from production operators right up to Director level. You will also be experienced with report writing, being able to concisely and accurately make your point in a logical and understandable way, both internally to various departments and also back to the customer.
Flexibility is a key aspect of the role, being able to change plans to travel to a customer to assist with a technical issue at short notice, for example. You will also be comfortable with late night and early starts to both meet the requirements of travel plans and customer’s operating hours. It would be advantageous if you lived near a major airport with good national and internal connections.
Additional Information
To apply for this role you must already have the right to live and work in the UK/Europe and have the ability to travel unrestricted both within the UK and Europe, as well as internationally. Visa sponsorship is not provided. You must be able to travel at short notice and for unknown durations.
This role will be based at either our Hann Munden, Germany site or our Cwmbran, UK site.
