The Senior Scientist will work within a collaborative team of motivated and scientifically rigorous scientists to conduct preclinical research and advance our clinical and pre-clinical drug programs in the field of cancer cell biology. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background employing state-of-the art approaches to gain a broader understanding of cell cycle and cell signaling in cancer biology. The candidate will translate basic research findings into therapeutic strategies, utilizing pharmacological and genetic approaches to formulate combination strategy, understand target mechanisms of action or/and resistance, and generate patient stratification strategies. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of scientific productivity as evidenced by scientific initiative and creativity in drug discovery and development or first author publications in scientific journals.
Role Responsibilities
  • Utilize expertise in cell cycle or/and cell signaling to develop innovative strategies for understanding the role of cell cycle or cell signaling in cancer progression, drug resistance and immune modulation
  • Design, execute and analyze/interpret experiments to advance mechanism of action studies, develop patient responder hypotheses, elucidate mechanisms of resistance, and identify rational drug combinations that can be translated to the clinic
  • Work collaboratively with computational biology group to integrate complex data sets including ‘omic’ data in preclinical/non-clinical settings to deepen understanding of target biology
  • Interface with groups of discovery biology, discovery technologies, computational biology, ADC biology, in vivo pharmacology, PDM, and DSRD to design experiments and interpret datasets to advance pipeline projects
  • Proactively seek out new information in the literature and incorporate this into individual project(s) as well as the overall program
  • Present research results and methodologies at routine meetings with immediate supervisor and/or project leader, project team meetings and other research forums
  • Contribute to building a culture that embraces scientific excellence, urgency, partnerships with key stakeholders, continuous learning and improvement, increasing technical skill base and cancer biology expertise; take a proactive role in personal growth and scientific development.

  • Expertise in cell cycle biology and/or cell signaling as evidenced by publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Preference for candidates with a strong track record in cancer drug discovery and/or translational research focusing on cell cycle/cell signaling
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a wide range of cell and molecular biology techniques and relevant assay detection technologies
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative in a diverse team environment with excellent communication skills and excellent leaderships skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in translational oncology including preclinical identification and evaluation of biomarkers (pharmacodynamics, prognostic, and response predictive) and assessment of drug combination strategy
  • Experience supporting IND study reports or writing relevant sections of IND study reports
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of other areas of cancer biology including but not limited to ADC biology, immuno-oncology, DNA repair, epigenetics and/or apoptosis
  • Experience in use of chemo-genomic screens or/and CRISPR-based techniques for gene knockout, gene editing and as well as working knowledge of pooled CRISPR -based screening approaches
