Overview
We have a requirement for a Contracts Manager for a large scale Pharmaceutical Construction project in Frankfurt.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that Construction contracts are administered in accordance with Corporate and Project procedures and also with regards to project schedule and budgets.
  • Let any locally awarded contracts in accordance with procedures.
  • Be familiar with the terms of the Head Contract and all construction contracts.
  • Use all resources and remedies under the construction contract in order to ensure that the contractor meets its contractual obligations.
  • Ensure that Construction Management and Supervision are fully informed as to the provisions of the respective contracts as well as the rights and obligations of the Construction Management Team and Contractor.
  • Review Site Work Instructions and Site Variation Orders (SVO) and liaise with the discipline Contracts Administrators as required.
  • Review Payment Certificates prior to issue for payment.
  • Review claims from and back-charges on contractors with assistance from package Contracts Administrators. Recommend, negotiate and settle these areas.
  • Ensure that the proper and adequate Contractor’s bonds and insurances are in place.
  • Input to the monthly cost report for incorporation within the monthly Construction Report.
  • Ensure that the appropriate interim and final certificates are issued.
  • Issue Practical Completion Certification to all contractors.
  • Issue close-out letter for each contract.
  • Ensure that proper documentation is kept to facilitate audits and the safe storage of records to archives following completion of the contract.
  • Reports to Construction Manager or delegate
Qualifications
  • Degree educated or exceptionally strong trades' background
  • At least twenty years' experience in the Construction Services sector
  • Experience in the Life Sciences and/or Mission Critical sectors essential
  • Experience of managing large construction packages essential
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • German and English speaking, fluent or business proficient.
