Global Manufacturing & Supply and Global Quality (GMSGQ) is the backbone of Takeda. We strive to ensure that our medicines are available wherever our patients are. Takeda's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Covington is one of the largest biotech production sites in the world. It has a key strategic role in our global manufacturing network, supplying quality therapies to our patients. This position is a member of the Site's Leadership team, reports to the Site Head, and is responsible for leading cross-functional Manufacturing teams to consistently deliver high-quality products on time in a competitive cost environment while in compliance with global regulatory requirements. Partner with Quality Leaders and other support organizations to drive continuous safety, quality, compliance, delivery, and value improvement. The incumbent will be responsible for Fractionation operations at the facility.
How You Will Contribute
  • Responsible for day-to-day manufacturing operations in a highly automated Fractionation facility while ensuring compliance with all applicable specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, FDA, EU, JP, and other national regulations (GMPs) for the Plasma manufacturing facility.
  • Ensures budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met with a heavy emphasis on productivity improvements, volume ramp, and consistency in supply.
  • Improve product quality and cost and reduce customer complaints through a proactive program that includes interaction with internal and external suppliers. Utilize collected data from customers to enhance perceived product quality.
  • Adheres to and drives improvement of all environmental, health, and safety SOPs, equipment, policies, and procedures, including department-specific requirements.
  • Propose and devise strategies from the data gathered to support the Manufacturing Operating System.
  • Ability to implement lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement to help drive productivity and minimize waste.
  • Responsible for resolving complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
  • Must execute judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Responsible for future strategic facility growth to satisfy increased volumes with clarity around concepts and execution.
What You Bring To Takeda
  • Typically, it requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in science, engineering, or other related technical field. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of related experience with 10+ in a management role.
  • Proven track record of success with manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to manage activities of departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of cost, methods, and employees.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and financial reports, understand, and resolve technical difficulties, interface with internal engineering/technical experts and external technical representatives, and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
  • Six Sigma certification and/or Lean Manufacturing skills are required.
  • Creative and self-motivated individual.

Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
  • Indoor working conditions.
  • General office environment.
  • May work/visit a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wearing protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Must be able to work hours necessary to support a 24/7 operation.
  • May be required to travel domestically or internationally to attend business meetings.
